We'd like to thank our loyal friends that visited our blog on a regular basis. As a group we've decided that we no longer want to post work on a weekly basis but on our own personal schedules. We plan on continuing with the site as more of a reference place for our work than a working weekly blog. Please continue to check in once in a while to see if we've posted new work and always visit our galleries to see what work is still for sale.Thank you for all of your support over the past year.

Profile of a Twenty-Something Artist: Abbey

I am Abbey Adams and also graduated from Adrian College in 2004 with my BFA in Studio Art with a Business Administration minor. Last winter I enrolled in a continuing education certificate program at the College for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit. I finished my mini program in Digital Print design although still feel like I'm learning. Ever since graduating I seem to have a harder time making art and have only a few finished pieces. Deadlines are hard for me, as you can see, but this new blog project is helping me work on that. It also helps to have two friends who keep pushing me to get it done!

I currently work at Starbucks Coffee and live in Royal Oak, Michigan. I love my city and, most days, my job. I get to meet all kinds of people, work with great friends, and drink coffee all day and night. At the same time, I feel like I'm not moving forward the way I had thought I would after graduating from school. I want to be an artist while having a "career" and have been thinking about the kind of life I want to create for myself. If I could have fun, be creative, and feel like I'm doing something that is important to me and the world in some way. Life is in the details, I am learning. This blog project is jump starting everything for me, I can already feel it. I am making new art, creating goals for myself, and giving me all kinds of energy.

Can't wait to show people who I am and what I can do. I have one other site with older work that I try to keep up-to-date at abbeyshea.sitesofourown.com if you are interested in looking. Feel free to write me any time and thanks for checking out our site!
